Boyfriend talking and texting other women?

Is this a now commonly excepted thing? Ive been dating a man for 8 months. He still talks/flirts and texts to girls and women. I think its rude and inappropriate. Is this the new kind of dating bullcrap?? The boyfriend before this one (of 2 years) did the same crap!! What the HECK!?
