Did I screw everything up just by telling him?

Okay, so two days ago, I had a huge pregnancy scare. My boyfriend of a month and two weeks had sex with me, and only after wards we realized that the condom broke. He and I were crazy about each other, seeing each other almost every day and he was constantly giving me gifts. We remained very happy up until I mentioned that my period was late and I though I could be pregnant. He spoke extremely rudely and refused to talk about it, and then once i took the test and it came back negative he continued to be rude and finally broke up with me then next day. I don't understand! Did I ruin it by telling him I might be having his baby?? If I hadn't told him would things be okay??
